I think my main criticism of it all is that we’re still leaving the reigns in the hands of politicians and organizations. We sit back and wait for moneyed orgs to do the work, when it really needs to be worker-lead. But at the same time it’s also nice to see Mamdani knocking things out that no prior mayor bothered to do. It’s sad how low the bar is in Amerika.
The next mayor has to literally run on the “I’m gonna increase rent” platform. Good luck with that.
