Would have to go through the code but most likely just ratio of up to down

I can throw it to Rimu, although I imagine the amount of users that truly only occasionally downvote (and never upvote) are pretty rare.

As per my edit it’s the entire point of the system to only go by up and down votes

Okay? Downvotes are valid at identifying bad posts, but spam downvoting is frowned on all the same.

It’s not spam if the user only downvotes. They may not think anything is worth an upvote but do see lots that they think are downvotes

I agree. That’s why it should take into account time between downvotes. Although I will add that I think the particular usertype you’re hypothesising is pretty rare.

Not really, but sure. Again if people care about downvotes that much it should just not be an option instead of used as a way to purge

It’s not used as a way to purge. I think downvotes can be useful, but I would still ban spam downvoters from my communities (not the instance).

Which piefed doesn’t keep track of only ratio of up to down
