My phone is definitely showing it’s age, about 5 years old now, battery doesn’t last more than 7ish hours. I’ve done research and if possible, I think I’d like to get the Fairphone. Does anyone have experience with it in the US? I know I’d have to import it, but using local carriers how well does it work?
Murena are selling it directly in the US now, albeit with a heavy premium over just importing it: https://murena.com/america/shop/smartphones/brand-new/murena-fairphone-6/
Comes with /e/ though, but you can replace with a different OS if you don’t want that.
It works fine in Canada except for the nasty restart loop bug they shipped in the last month’s update.
If I understand correctly, Fairphone themselves are going to be bringing their products to the United States, starting with their earbuds, not the phone yet, but as said, you can get it still from their partner, but I believe they at some point should have their phone as well available here.
Man, I really hope they’re the manufacturing partner GrapheneOS is talking about, or they at least include Verizon support on future models. T-mobile just doesn’t do it for me out in the middle of the forest.
How long ago did you check that? I know T-Mobile’s network has gotten a lot better.
And they’re even launching that satellite service where you can get some small amounts of data through Starlink.
