Our cat looks bloated around the lower chest area and didn’t have an appetite this morning. I don’t know if he just ate too muchbof anything outdoors or if this might be something major that needs medical attendance. He is around 1.5 years old and has been neutered. Thank you in advance for your advice/thoughts!

Go to the fucking vet you idiot. Don’t waste time asking questions on the internet. The very fact you have asked on here makes me question whether you are a responsible owner. (I say that as the owner of a big dog).

aw, be nice. OP might be a kid, might not have a lot of money for a vet, might not realize that cats can be in a fair amount of pain before showing it, etc.

In some backwoods places, like the US, this could cost a few hundred dollars just to get a simple answer. Just like human medical care, many people simply cannot afford it.

Vet. It’s possible for a cats intestines to get wrapped around themselves, which can kill them.

Dunno about cats, but a dog’s stomach can fold in over itself causing bloating and considerable pain possibly leading to death. You should get a vets opinion, even if your pet is still pooing.

I’d call my vet. They‘d rather be annoyed by an exam that turns out to be normal than rush around in a panic because you let a concern sit too long.

Do you care about the cats health a lot? Then go to the vet

Do you kinda care about the cat, and it is what it is? Ask the internet and wait a few days.
