No, but I do think the anger over it is silly. If you don’t like it either don’t upvote it or downvote and move on. I haven’t upvoted it, to be clear.

The only person expressing any anger is you getting upset that other people don’t like a meme that you also don’t like. Edgey atheism is a phase most young people who leave religion go through and grow out of.

My problem with a lot of atheist arguments, is that it’s just theology oversimplified and out of context, when literally ANYTHING sounds stupid out of context and oversimplified.

Like what arguments? I thought most atheist arguments essentially boil down to the burden of proof and falsifiability, or they take an anthropological approach to the origins of religion. Essentially, they don’t depend on theological arguments at all.

Like, “religion cannot provide any falsifiable evidence of its existence, hence it should not be believed” doesn’t involve theology at all, and “religion was invented by a priest class to control the population and maintain power” similarly doesn’t depend on theology. Neither are related to a specific religion, even.

To clarify, I’m not trying to start a theological argument here. I just literally don’t understand your perspective, but clearly I’m missing something based on both you posting it and others upvoting you. Am I just out of the loop about what people on the Internet argue about? (Granted, that’s quite possible; I haven’t been subscribed to /r/atheism in well over a decade.)

Idk man. I rather see the opposite in my area. Where my ex was atheist and had severe NPD and constantly gaslighted me into believing her perspective. (Explaining thay headache is caused by wheather and shit meanwhile I tried to explain that this is not scientific and she needs to have some small or even big issues underlining after she complains a year long straight. Seems that she outed herself that she didnt drink water and only sleep 4 hours.)

But I guess I am not really that religious myself except I ride myself into heavy issues (like the breakup) which made me get a new and better girlfriend who actually understands how life works.

Whether you agree with the sentiment or not, this kind of meme just isn’t original enough to be funny imo. Terminally online edgelords bash religion all over the internet like it’s their jobs.

Nothing to see here. It’s just a way for sad people to feel superior.
