It looks more like poor quality charging stations.
Given the general build quality of Teslas shit it’s entirely possible it just kinda did that.
Real Americans saw nothing and will acquit.
…something… something… jury nullification…
Didn’t Tesla open up their superchargers to non-Tesla BEVs some time back? I’m pretty sure I remember that.

Yeah, sounds like it is, at least for newer EVs or older ones with adapters.

Many Supercharging stalls will be accessible to other electric vehicle drivers in North America through the Tesla app and adapters provided by your vehicle manufacturer. New vehicles outside of Tesla have started coming equipped with NACS charge ports. Vehicles that are NACS-equipped do not require an adapter.
It’s always been our ambition to open the Supercharger network to all EVs, and by doing so, encourage more drivers to rapidly transition to an emission-free future.
I think that these stations are owned by Tesla, so I suppose that vandalizing them probably does cause financial harm to Tesla, and if someone is angry with Elon Musk, that does cause some degree of harm to him. I don’t personally advocate for doing that kind of thing, but I imagine that that was likely the goal here.
But given that a major constraint on EV adoption is a lack of charging infrastructure, it also doesn’t sound great in terms of carbon emissions. I mean, this impacts mostly EV owners, and not even just owners of Tesla vehicles (many of whom, I suspect, aren’t too thrilled with some of Musk’s recent actions either).
Realistically, I think that the most-effective thing one can probably do if one objects to what Musk is doing with the federal government right now is to go out and get in touch with the Democratic Party and volunteer time to try to flip the House come the next midterms. That’s nearly two years out, but it’s probably the single greatest impact that one could have on many of the things going on.
My guess is that Musk probably isn’t going to change course much based on whether someone vandalizes some Tesla chargers, and it won’t make him much poorer. And it’s got a lot of collateral damage to people who don’t have anything to do with Musk’s present actions.
