  • It would be cool if you could run a coop where you all paid in the amortized cost of repairs on a schedule and if an incident happened before expected you withdraw the cash and keep paying in after.

But this would get abused on both ends by fraudulent claims and petty managers. You’d have to be very selective.

  • You might like my spouse

We were at a dinner event and they hired a drone operator to film it. So we’re sitting there, the musician is going on stage, and you hear brrrrrrrrrrrrr zrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the whole fucking time as this drove flies around you. We had an edge seat next on a patio so we’re the front row for the drone…

She spent the entire evening flipping off that drone so the footage wouldn’t be usable.

They didn’t ask for consent or a waiver or notify you they were doing that. We had tickets to multiple nights (bought months in advance) and they did this at all of them. We actually thought it was some annoying kid trying to be a brat until I saw the drone guy talking to the staff at the end of the night.

    Super obnoxious.

  • That’s wrong?

EVERYONE is doing this. Not that I support it, but I’m surprised it still works.

Email clients do it, Reddit does it, tons of apps, even different browsers. I think at one point Microsoft was doing it in Edge (or was that only discount code stuffing?). Affiliate link and cookie rewriting is everywhere.

    ETA:

Phia would override the referral codes from other affiliates and instead inject its own, allowing it to take credit for and potentially receive a commission on a purchase it didn’t earn.

Just to be clear, if you post a link on Reddit, Reddit rewrites the it to add their own affiliate links. Microsoft does this. Chat apps do it. It’s not a secret.

I should add “that’s wrong” is tongue in cheek. Obviously it’s wrong. My point is the rubicon has been crossed so many times it’s fucking ridiculous.
