Games@lemmy.world•What was the first game you ever bought ?English
3·1 个月前Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. Still one of my favorites so definitely worth it.
Yeah forge is what I use too and it’s definitely a little clunky. PaperWM was decent last time I tried it too (but still a little clunky)

Games@lemmy.world•Untitled John Wick Game - Announce Trailer | PS5 GamesEnglish
2·3 个月前I could see something like Sleeping Dogs working too

Linux@programming.dev•Linux Mint isn't the answer for Windows refugees anymoreEnglish
71·3 个月前I use Fedora myself but for people new to Linux I still usually recommend Ubuntu. I know it’s likely to stick around because of the company backing and if an application is built for Linux it’s pretty much guaranteed to work on Ubuntu. I’m sure Mint is great too but for a beginner I want the distro to be as well supported as possible.
Once they get the hang of open source and develop a healthy hate of Snap I drag them down into my Fedora cave though.

Programming@programming.dev•Developers remain willing but reluctant to use AI: The 2025 Developer Survey results are hereEnglish
11·4 个月前Salesforce definitely does it. Coinbase also recently fired a bunch of devs for not using it (https://techcrunch.com/2025/08/22/coinbase-ceo-explains-why-he-fired-engineers-who-didnt-try-ai-immediately/)

Linux@lemmy.ml•TIL: There is an open source "Alexa replacement" projectEnglish
13·6 个月前Something like OVOS would be more of an Alexa replacement, right? I used Mycroft for a while before the company went under but this is the community fork.
Lutris has Epic and Itch.io. It’s also lets you add a steam shortcut pretty easily.

Programming@programming.dev•Do you guys use AI when programming? If so, how?English
44·7 个月前I use the Jetbrains AI Chat with Claude and the AI autocomplete. I mostly use the AI as a rubber duck when I need to work through a problem. I don’t trust the AI to write my code, but I find it very useful for bouncing ideas off of and getting suggestions on things I might have missed. I’ve also found it useful for checking my code quality but it’s important to not just accept everything it tells you.
Not yet, but that’s coming https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/issues/59

South Park: The Stick of Truth and its sequel were really funny and the RPG gameplay was a lot more fun than I expected. I’ll also second the recommendation for the Monkey Island series.
