My argument for that is “yesterday I ate some salad”. It’s just as relevant to what you just said because once again, it has nothing to do with what’s being said.

Has anyone said you have to stay there with the volume up? Or even watch your screen? You’re just full of bad faith.
Also, I didn’t say illegal, I said immoral, which is what you accused them of being. You’re not following their ToS, and you’re trying to make yourself feel better about it.
That’s not for you to say if it’s “fully compensated” or not. They say “here is the service we provide, where is what we want from you”. If you reject any part of what they want from you, it’s immoral even if it’s not illegal.
Or, you know, pay for what you use?
Thanks for being one of us and that you’re paying for the service. If more people were ads blocking, it would be even worse for the others.
People on here are just out of touch. They call others immoral, yet don’t see the irony of using other people’s resources and time without proper compensation and not calling it immoral.
Yeah! If you’re teaching elementary school and not at the Doctorate level, it means you don’t care about education!

I’m fine with that, as long as they prevent ANYONE with a white collar crime from owning any assets, right?
That would be fair?
I can’t tell if that was sarcasm or not. If it was, you got me. If it wasn’t, then that’s quite a big lack of understanding of what’s actually happening.
Anything that sounds like T Mo is evil. Case and point: Teemo
I’m using telemetry to figure out what’s wrong, what’s used and what isn’t used, what fails and what’s reliable, what was done when it failed, etc.
You can call yourself an expert as much as you want, it’s a tool that’s useful to me, so you saying it’s white noises and not useful bears no weight
Also, calling someone an internet warrior is funny / ironic coming from someone who’s doing exactly the same…
Not sure what your point is, but ok?
It’s my professional opinion, as a current software engineer that what I said is my reality. If your telemetry was useless, it’s because it was poorly done, what can I say?
Once again, no.
Focus group and survey can help a lot as to the “why”, or the perception of things. Telemetry helps with the quantitative, the how and the what quite a lot more. Users often can’t even remember the sequence of events, or even how they reached a given situation.
All that information is important for the dev itself sure, but also for the UI people, the UX, the product manager, etc.
No idea, but that has nothing to do with anything. Considering that the standard is public and free (unlike ISO stuff bte), that most relevant telecoms support it, and that a lot of phone manufacturers have a custom client that does support it, it’s not remotely close to being closed sourced, and service-authentication-gated like iMessages.
Their goal never will be to have no people bypassing it. It’s always a balance of “reasonable effort to prevent it” with making it enough of an annoyance to deter everyone from doing it.
Their implementation is closed source, not the protocol. They can’t change the protocol unilaterally whenever they want, etc.
Big difference.
Cancelled my Netflix a while ago and I don’t see myself cancelling YouTube premium anytime soon. One thing that annoys me quite a lot is that THESE PEOPLE don’t understand that by using adblockers they’re making the situation worse for everyone, especially those not using one. Why do you think people bake sponsors into their content? Because they have to. Why do you think the frequency of ads increases? Because if they want the same profits, with less people seeing the ads and their infrastructure cost remaining the same, they must increase the frequency of the ads.
Eewwwww
