Tapping your thumbnail left my Lemmy client and opened a browser, went through two redirects with individual loading screens, then finally loaded another page with another thumbnail.
This kind of bullshit is why the fediverse sucks.
On mine it sent me directly to the post and another tap on the image opened it fullscreen. It may be your client, I’m using jerboa
That’s still not expected behavior for tapping on a thumbnail.
On the feed in Boost this appears to be a regular post with an attached image, not what it actually is which is a link to a completely different type of website that has to load in a separate browser or container. The loading screens add a second level of “wtf is happening” before you’re presented with essentially a duplicate of what you were already looking at.
That’s abominable levels of clunk.
100% an issue with Boost then, this is what it looks like in Eternity:

The above site is a Mastodon site not a Lemmy / PieFed site and I guess Summit on Android doesn’t know how to display it natively.
I don’t mind that behaviour.
I clicked it here and it took me strait to the site with the image front and center. I’m using Mlem on iOS at the moment.
