Ok, so now I’m curious, will wild big cats and domestics cats get along? I mean like if a tabby got into a tiger enclosure, would it immediately be dinner, or might they see each other as cousins?

There was that story of a stray cat that lived with a big cat at the Moscow zoo so they can get along, but I have no idea how common it is in nature.

Cheetahs are usually paired with an emotional support dog in zoos. And of course, KoKo wept for her little kitten.

I mean, they might even see the tabby as a newborn tiger.

I really don’t know, if that’s the case, though. We humans are pretty sensitive to other humans looking ‘off’, too (cf. Uncanney Valley, racism).

Apparently house cats are just too small to bother with unless they are REALLY hungry. So more likely to adopt the cat than anything
