I lose sockets easily. I would rather have florescent or metallic pink and deal with criticism.
Metallic pink sounds awesome. Would stand out in a mechanical setting, unlikely to be stolen, and you can shit on people calling you names because they got their nickers in a twist because of a tool colour.
I’d rock it. I’m more of a yellow or blue guy. I’m just thinking of what would cause me the must grief (after camo).
I would stay away from yellow, as there are enough fluids out there that could mask it. Contrasting colours, and as offensive to toxic masculinity as possible. With black light, photoreflective, and glow in the dark treatments.
Basically my ideal wrench and socket paint job should offend every sense, sensibility, and taste.
I used to work at a factory. One of the maintenance guys had a zip-tied little rainbow pony on his toolbox. He was just a goofball. He would carry around a roll of large gold star stickers. He would randomly put one on your chest and say “you’re doing a great job”. I saw a gold star on the TP dispenser in the bathroom and knew he was to blame.
Most of the guys in that kind of profession are pretty accepting as long as you do your thing with confidence. You’ll get some ribbing, but you’re expected to give it back.
